Ever found yourself gagging for a cuppa at work – but not wanting to boil the kettle seeing as you made the last one?
Me too.
So to help office morale around the world, I’m creating a website so you can track who’s made what and more importantly, who’s next.
If you’re looking at this and have read any of my other posts, you’ll notice that the site has had a makeover that would make Nick Knowles and his DIY SOS team proud!
Gone are the default WordPress colours and images – there are so many bright colours now you need a pair of sunglasses to view it!
We’ve got a new project at work.
It’s really cool and we want it to have a secret project name that sounds awesome and makes us feel important by talking about something no-one else knows about.
But what do you do when you haven’t got any kind of naming convention of projects? Get one quick because revision 641 of the development branch sounds pretty naff whilst Project Apocalypse sounds awesome!
In the past Microsoft have had some great names for projects – “Sparta” for Windows for Workgroups and “Wolfpack” for Microsoft Cluster Server are a couple of the best whilst Apple have free roam over the big cats. I’ve had all sorts for my computers in the past - planets, constellations (good job I only had 2 computers as I don’t know many constellations), beer, ancient forgotten cities, the list goes on..
Today I’ve mostly been playing around with Darwin.
I’m not talking about doing experiments with Finches of different colours and beak sizes – i’m on about Darwin Streaming Server, or DSS for short.
